This is the beginning phase of a new program which is designed to help the student of Qur'anic recitation, or tajweed (meaning to beautify). It is an interactive version of the physical Tajwidi Qur'an found at an-Noor Educational Foundation.
Currently it contains only the Juz' Amma, but it will expand in the future, inshaa'allah. There will also be continual feature enhancements to make it more useful. It is similar to other programs on the internet like reciter.org, but it is special in that it, like it's physical counterpart, has a system of transliteration of Arabic into roman characters, including symbols for special rules used during proper recitation to aid the non-Arabic speaker or those in the process of learning Arabic. As-Salaamu-Alaikum
MASJID AN NUR UPDATE
On Friday, June 29th, inspectors from the City of Minneapolis (HVAC,
Mechanical and Electrical, and Building) will be going through Masjid An Nur
to make sure that all of the construction work is up to code.
If we pass inspection (insha'allah) we will be able to hold Jumah next
Friday, July 6, 2007 @ 1:30 p.m. We will make an announcement on our voice
mail (612-521-1749), our website: www.masjidannur.org, and through e-mail.
It has been a very long time; but, we believe it will be worth the wait.
Please plan on wearing your very best clothes (both inside and out) next
Friday!

As Salaam Alaikum,
We are inching ever closer to completing the Expansion & Renovation Project. The lower level has been completed. The upper level is expected to be completed this week, with the installation of the carpeting in the Musallah. We were blessed to have a Muslim brother from Georgia donate the carpeting for the entire musallah. He simply asked that we do two things: 1) Take photos after it has been installed, and 2) Make dua for him. (Al hamdulillah) Bro. Justin Mann (our carpet contractor) says that the carpeting is some of the finest that he's seen. (Al hamdulillah)

As Salaam Alaikum,
Masjid An Nur Day
Some of you have inquired about the success of the Masjid An Nur Day effort
on Jumah, May 11, 2007.
Money has continued to come in from the various masajids; so, I have
hesitated in communicating before now. For example, just today we receive
almost $10,000.
To date, we have received approximately $40,000 in cash and another $10,000
in pledges from the various masajids.
The non-financial benefits have been even greater. We have established and
are continuing to establish some very excellent relationships with our
brothers and sisters at other masajids, which has been truly rewarding.

As Salaam Alaikum,
Insha'allah, we're getting very close to completion of the Expansion and
Renovation of Masjid An Nur – Phase I.
The contractors are completing the final work this week and next. All of
the heating and air conditioning and electrical work has been completed.
Wudu stations and rest rooms on the lower level are finished. Rest rooms on
the upper level will be finished this week. Lights and ceiling tiles are
being installed this week. Final work is being done on the inner dome in
the musallah this week. Priming and painting will take place this week and
next.

Our building at 1729 Lyndale Avenue North is now closed for the Masjid renovation project until March 1, 2007.
